Lyon in the top 5 most green French cities
The travel comparison website Kayak has just released its 2020 trends guide.
This edition contains some all-new categories, based on searches by French users on the website.
Among them is family-friendly destinations.
Lyon was the runner-up in this ranking, behind Strasbourg and ahead of Marseille. Deauville, Nice, Bordeaux, Chessy, Saint-Malo, Paris and Cannes occupied the other spots in the top 10 for this category.

Lyon in the top 5 French destinations most searched for abroad
The travel comparison website Kayak has published a top 10 of the most searched for cities by its users. Lyon came 4th behind Paris, as well as Nice and Marseille, which are sunny destinations that are popular with tourists in summer.
This ranking was compiled on the basis of search results for flights from around the world made on Kayak.fr, for journeys between 9 June and 31 August 2021.

Culture RP has published its ranking of the top 10 most influential tourist offices on Instagram. Lyon came 3rd place behind Paris and Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, and ahead of Nantes and Bordeaux.

Chef’s Pencil has just published a study of the cost of dining out at top-rated Michelin restaurants. To do this, they researched the menus of 450 restaurants with two or three stars in the Michelin Guide. Lyon is one of the least expensive cities in the world and the least expensive in Europe.

Lyon, 2nd in the category 'Europe's Leading City Destination 2021' at the World Travel Awards
The WTA, described as the “Oscars of Tourism”, ranked Lyon 2nd in the category ‘Europe’s Leading City Destination 2021’, behind Moscow (which has already won the last two awards at European and global level) and ahead of Amsterdam, Barcelona, Berlin, Geneva, Lisbon, London, Rome, Saint-Petersburg, Venice and Vienna.
The city of Lyon was a hugely popular choice among the tourism professionals and travellers from around the world who voted.

Lyon: leading French city and 7th global city in the GDS-Index
At the ICCA congress dedicated to event planning professions, the 2021 GDS-Index (Global Destination Sustainability Index), the leading global sustainable tourism ranking, placed Lyon in the top position for France and 7th position in the world. It also handed Lyon the "Most improved Award 2021".

Lyon: the top major French city to work, according to the Arthur Loyd 2021 survey
The city of Lyon remains the top major agglomeration, with a population of more than one million, to work (outside of Paris), according to Arthur Loyd’s 2021 ‘Baromètre de l’attractivité des métropoles françaises’ (survey of the attractiveness of French cities). It came ahead of Bordeaux and Toulouse. Based on 75 criteria related to economic performance, the services market and reception of companies, as well as connectivity, human capital, innovation and quality of life.

The World Travel Awards named Lyon as the "World’s Tourism Leading Emerging Destination" 2022, on 16 December 2021. It follows in the footsteps of Colombo (Sri Lanka) and raises the profile of France by becoming the top destination to discover worldwide in 2022.
