The World Travel Awards named Lyon "World’s Tourism Leading Emerging Destination". Following Colombo (Sri Lanka), Lyon has put the spotlight on France by becoming the number-one global tourism destination to discover in 2022.

Greater Lyon, the most attractive city in France
Lyon came first in the 2021 ranking of the top 5 French metropolises and 21 French cities put together by HelloWork, in partnership with the leading recruitment specialist Cabinet Hays. This ranking was based on a survey of more than 2300 working people, gauging how they feel about their living environment, based on criteria such as living cost, infrastructure quality, transport, quality of life, economic dynamism, and the job market. In the top 5, Lyon came ahead of Rennes, Nantes, Toulouse and Metz.
